Take a tour with a homeless person, a special tour guide who will show you how Dutch homeless people live. You might think it's scary, but it's actually a great way to experience the creativity and strength of people, to listen to their life story!

Have you ever thought what would happen to you if you were suddenly to loose your job, your income and your house? It looks like a dreadful scenario, but unfortunately, it happens virtually every day. Also in the Netherlands!

Mokum Events has found a homeless person in Amsterdam to whom it happened. In addition, he would like to tell you how it happened to him and how his daily life now looks like. Walk together with this very interesting person and experience what it is like to live on the street, to depend on the generosity of others, to eat what you and I deem not to be good enough anymore and to sleep at the Salvation Army or at worst to sleep under a cardboard box in the open air!

Yet, your homeless person is not unhappy! He will tell you with pleasure his story and the ones of his drifting friends. He will show you his Mokum; from the homeless shelter at the Wallen to the abandoned houses where many a drifter spend his or her night and the rubbish bins of well to do restaurants, where at times a royal meal can be made from hearty scraps.

This man understands the art of showing you a neighbourhood which on the one side is sad, but on the other carefree and very happy! You will talk about this for a long time to come and perhaps after this day you may think differently about the "ordinary" rich life...
