Whole tribes in Africa do it! Percussion is not a technique, it's an art! You will learn all there is about different rhytms, different ways of druming the beat! Enjoy it, together with friends, you will communicate much better in the future!

We will play on djembé, doundoun, sanbang, kenkeni, shakers and bells in our percussion workshop. Accept the challenge to compose a rhythm with your group from a number of (often simple) rhythmic patterns. This is how a swinging piece will come to life thanks to your talent and enthousiasm. Playing percussion can be regarded as a non-verbal communication. If people listen to each other, you will make music. If people don't listen to each other, you will make noise.

In African percussion, dancing and singing are inextricably mixed with one another. In this workshop, we will also sing. There is a great chance that you will not be able to sit still behind your djembé, or that you will swing all the way through the hall with your shaker in hand!
