What are we going to do today? We will take you on a tour through Amsterdam and show you beautiful examples of world-famous Amsterdam culture, architecture and art. We will travel back in time?.

10.30 am - 12.30 pm Architectural Experience

In the morning, we will start with a round boat trip through the Eastern Harbour district, where famous architects have converted old harbour offices into modern houses and offices by means of unique style and character. We will look at the Java-island and the KNSM-island, both with their inventive housing typology. 

12.45 pm - 02.00 pm Lunch in the Cobra Café

In the afternoon we will moor the boat and enjoy a lunch in a very special establishment: "The "Cobra Café", designed by the Dutch architect Spanjers. The whole interior of the café, the menu as well as employees' uniforms, are all based on works by the famous Cobra movement (amongst others Karel Appel and Corneille). The Cobra movement, as you know, was founded at the end of the 40's of the last century.

02.00 pm - 03.30 pm Guided Tour Museum Quarters

After lunch, we will walk through the famous "Museumkwartier". This neighbourhood was built at the beginning of the 20th century around the National Museum. The work is based on a design by architect P.J.H. Cuypers (who also designed the Central Station). It's lovely to walk through this fashionable area. The houses and other buildings are a feast for the eye, especially for connaisseurs and enthusiasts of the famous 'Amsterdam School` architectural style. At the end of the afternoon, we will visit the National Museum and view a special exhibition about the Golden Age.

03.30 pm - 5.00 pm Guided Tour through the National Museum

The museum tries to show us an image of daily life in the era of The Golden Age. The museum wants you to see, feel, taste and smell this period in time. To this end, it uses masterpieces crafted by Rembrandt van Rijn, Frans Hals and Jan Steen. But it does not stop there. It also shows us the dollhouses of Petronella and many different objects such as crockery, glassware and furniture. You will think that you are right there, in the middle of the 17th century! A unique experience!

You will not forget this day very quickly. The cultural spell we have cast over you will be present for a long time? You too will be proud of our Mokum!
